This assignment must be completed while online.
You will apply your knowledge of Weathering and Erosion by interpreting 10 pictures
each with supporting text.
Directions:
1. Click on each menu entry to the left and a photograph or illustration will
appear in this main, larger window.
2. Look at the picture and read the caption. Use the inside scroll bar to view
the entire length of the window.
3. Decide whether what you see is an example of Weathering (be it either Physical
or Chemical Weathering) or if it is an example of Erosion.
4. Write either the word Weathering or Erosion, along
with a brief reason for your choice, on the printable Answer
Sheet which is linked, towards the bottom, after entry number 10 in the
column to the left of this main window. The Answer Sheet will open in its own
browser window.
5. Be sure to answer number 11 in the data table.
6. Submit your completed Answer Sheet to your teacher.
Please note: One might be tempted to say that both Weathering and Erosion are
involved in some of the pictures. However, state which process is the one that
actually caused exactly what you are seeing in the illustration or photo. Do
not think backward in time to events that would have led to or come before what
you are viewing.
Please note that the Answer Sheet is formatted for printing however each
assignment page you will view is not.
